Climate Change: Is Global Warming Real?
Is global warming real? A lot of experts believe the global warming is real and that the Earth is heating up. According to reports, the temperature of the earth has been gradually increasing the beginning of the industrial revolution. Experts believe that the cause of the gradual heating of the Earth’s surface is due to the increase of the greenhouse gases in the planet. Although greenhouse gases are important to keep Earth warm, activities of human beings increased the production of greenhouse gases thus causing an imbalance in the Earth’s atmosphere.
The Greenhouse Effect
The increase in the greenhouse gases in the Earth’s atmosphere causes earth to heat up. For the last 140 years, the temperature of the surface of the Earth increased by 1 degree Fahrenheit. For most people, this increase does not really sound much at all and they keep asking is global warming real or are we just overreacting? A lot of experts are convinced that global warming is real and the effects of global warming can already be felt in the more violence weathers that we have lately.
According to experts, the earth’s atmosphere trapped gases such as methane from pollution, carbon dioxide and water vapor. The trapped gases in the atmosphere allow solar radiation to pass through it but prevent the solar radiation from escaping back into space. As a more solar radiation is trapped on Earth, heating of the surface of the Earth becomes inevitable.
Is global warming real? Yes of course it is real. There is really no question as to the fact that the earth’s atmosphere is heating up. The fact that the increase in the earth’s surface is only 1 degree Fahrenheit is something that must never be ignored or taken for granted. Note that the slightest increase in the temperature in the earth’s atmosphere already has some severe negative effects on the biodiversity of the planet.
According to studies, global warming is one of the primary reasons why corals are dying in some areas. The death of corals in some areas of the planet causes an imbalance in the environment and triggers a domino effect. Note that when corals die, the aquatic habitat is affected and our aquatic resources become depleted.
Aside from killing corals, global warming can cause the extinction of some forms of life in the planet. Studies show that there are certain types of plants and organisms that are very sensitive to heat that the slightest change in the temperature of the earth could them to die. If global warming is not arrested, there is a big possibility that life on earth would be altered and many types of species will vanish in the next several years.
